Thurs May 26th
At 5:00 this morning, we all met up to hit the road for Vegas. Some of us had slept a couple hours, some hadn't slept at all, all of us were clearly not morning people. We had some left over pizza and PBJ's for breakfast as we began one of the longer rides of the trip. In an unfortunate turn of events, our good friend and rhythm guitarist, Jerry, was unable to make this trip for legal reasons. This, my friends, is a fucking drag. Jerry is the ultimate travel partner. He loves to party, he's funny as fuck, he's the ultimate co-pilot (pumps gas, changes tires, checks maps, lights cigarettes, etc). We're sad to be without him. Regardless, morale is high, road conditions are good and as always the tunes, jokes and farts are abundant.
What the hell...if this is a tour blog, let's use the traditional format
7:51 PM
All loaded in @ The Las Vegas Country Saloon. I love this place. Granted, we've never had what you'd call an AMAZING show here, but the staff always treats us well, the sound system is one of the best in the country and the atmosphere is very, very cool. At first glance, one might get the idea that LVCS is a shitkicker bar. The mechanical bull in the middle of the room, the Toby Keith blasting on the speakers and pictures of Roy Rodgers on the wall could lead you to the conclusiuon that this is not the place for tattooed rock n roller types. Couldn't be further from the truth. After all, we did see ZEKE here our very first time and rumor has it Punk Rock Karaoke will be going on this weekend to entertain the droves of people coming out for the Punk Rock Bowling Tournament. We're hoping that some of the early arrivals will trickle in tonight. We've always been the the types to start a party early!

So the show last night was fun. It was Vegas...nothing happened...at all. We played with a pretty sweet Ska/Reggae band called Mephistopheles (I think?) and an "All Styles" cover band called Wicked Garden. The best part about Wicked Garden was that they were given a copy of our CD in advance and asked if they could arrange their set so as to better mix with us. These dudes played Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Bush, Green Day and more. I felt like I was back in 1997 all over again. I'm not saying that to talk shit either! I got seriously nostalgic, so much in fact, that when we decided to hit the road to Sacramento right after the show the first song I played was "Mmm mmm mmm" by the Crash Test Dummies (totally lame, I know). Then we had ourselves a nice little Australian 80's Pop Party. We enjoyed the music of Men at Work, INXS and of course, Midnight Oil. Tay sings "Beds are Burning" like nobody's business! Eventually, when we got tired we pulled into a town called Beatty, NV and camped out near a park. We were woken up by a local Park Ranger who was just as friendly a guy as you could ever wanna meet. Just swell I tells ya. We stopped by The Shady Lady Ranch, just out of curiosity. They had peacocks! We didn't partake in any of the services, but we did get a lot of interesting and useful information. Now, here we are, in the middle of the desert, enjoying the sights and listening to music...Today's goal is to listen to everything Led Zeppelin ever put out.
8:27 PM
Sitting in a Hotel a few miles from The Distillery, tonight's venue in Downtown Sacramento. We were going to get a motel closer to the bar, but it seemed a little too, how do I put this? Too "Meth-y". After a long day of driving, we're ready to get in some showers, eat some greasy food and get ready for a hell of a show! Let's get it on Sac town...
